It doesn't seem like a software issue or mechanical hardware issue, but more of a sensor hardware issue. The Apple Magic Mouse 2 looks and feels the same as its predecessor. Doesn't matter if the mouse is in ratchet-mode or freespin-mode. It doesn't matter if scrolling fast, slow, large, or small. Like there's some lag and frames/events are being dropped.
It's almost like the scroll slips on ice - if that makes sense. But sometimes the distance varies despite my turning the wheel the same amount. If I'm using my index finger to roll the wheel X°, I expect the page to always move the same distance. The issue I have is that the scroll distance is inconsistent. I think there were a few issues with the scrolling, so it's not clear what you're referring to.
